Myeik is situate on the southern Tanintharyi Region of Myanmar known as Beik or Mergui. Myeik is a largest city in Tanintharyi region. It is very important town in Myanmar. It is also the Costal capital city. The town is close to the sea.The weather is neither too hot nor too cool. As of 2014, the estimated population was over seven lakh. They are workers. Government servants, Traders, business men and fishermen. Most of people are Myanmar and Buddhists. The attraction of Myeik are Thein Daw Gyi pagoda. Paw Daw Mu Pagoda. Sone Lay Sone Paya. Shwe Thar Lyaung Pagoda, Buu Pagoda. Myeik is famous for it's products such as Pearl, rubber, Edible natural bird’s nest, Dried fish, Dried prawn, Ngapi (Shrimp Paste)and Traditional foods such as Kaq Kye’ Kaiq and Traditional snacks. There are many valuable oil palm plantations, rubber plantations and ever green forest. On the Andaman Sea, many valuable Pearl breeding and fishing beds can observe in the sea. Fishing is traditional business along the coastal sea and islands. There are about over 800 spotted islands.
